Welcome to Jon Allbutt Associates, a specialist health and safety advisory service provider to sport, leisure, parks, gardens and estates; industrial estates and country parks all collectively known as amenity horticulture. The Principal Consultant Jon Allbutt has been involved in amenity and industrial horticulture for over 40 years, the majority of which has involved working in ornamental horticulture and sports grounds maintenance (mainly golf courses, sports grounds and ornamental parks), including a six year period in the pesticides industry as a technical development manager for sports turf products.

In addition to running a busy consultancy, Jon is also involved with the following projects and organisations:-

• A founder member of the Advisory Board for the National Register of Spray Operators (NRoSO).
• A member of the Board of BASIS.
• A member of the NPTC/City and Guilds Landbased Advisory Committee.
• Chairman of the Amenity and Landscaping Environmental Stewardship Forum (The Amenity Forum).
• A member of the Pesticides Forum and the Voluntary Initiative Steering Group.
• Currently leading a joint project for the Greenkeepers Training Committee and the Health and Safety Executive on the revisions to the important guide “Health and Safety in Golf Course Management and Maintenance”. Jon was involved in the original edition launched in 1994.

Jon holds the Diploma in Safety Management (DipSm), is a member of the British Safety Council and the International Institute of Risk and Safety Management (IIRSM). Jon is also a member of the BASIS Professional Register (Amenity) (MPR) and holds the BASIS Certificate in Crop Protection (R/083A).
